Back To School Stress No More

"Back to School" Family Health session(up to 4 family members)

Remember this Back to School Toxic check list:

1) What year was your school built?

2) How far is the nearest cornfield?

3) What cleaning products do your schools use?

4) What is your drinking water?

5)How sunny is your playground?

The answers to these questions will help you figure out the toxic load on your kid. Not to fear. There’s plenty you can do as a parent for your child and yourself.

It's that time of the year again - "back to school."  This is an extra stressful time for the super mom.  After-school activities, clubs and sports are back as well.  It's the drive me here, drive me there, drive me everywhere time of year that can drive you crazy.  You'll need all the energy you can sum up.

If you haven't reset yourself from last year you may be in for a shock.

What is your fuel source?

Are you still getting by with caffeine, sugar or other stimulants as your main fuel for energy or to just stay awake during the afternoon to get your chore list completed?  This may have worked for years, but sooner or later you will be left drained and fatigued and like everyone else who has been there before, you won't know why you are "just so exhausted!"

Have you heard of the phrase "stress kills?"  It's a true statement.

We all have a natural rhythm of cortisol production.  Highest levels are in the morning and it tapers gently into the evening.  When you are under any form of stress your cortisol levels increase.  When you are under constant stress, the stress response can become down-regulated and your body will reduce the amount of cortisol produced.  Too much cortisol can cause damage to your body, while too little cortisol is a problem as well.  Leaving yourself in this state without any correction can lead to the many common and not so common diseases.

Cortisol is not the enemy, it just needs to be regulated.  In fact, cortisol plays an important role in regulating blood sugar, electrolyte imbalance and production of other hormones.

In order to correct this problem with an optimal treatment plan, a clear picture of your cortisol production is necessary because symptoms alone cannot provide adequate information to draw any conclusions.

Salivary testing is the only way to accurately measure the pattern of cortisol release throughout the day and also show the fraction of all hormones that your body uses.  The adrenal saliva test  is an excellent starting place for evaluating hormone function.  This panel tests both reproductive (sex) and adrenal hormones because symptoms of imbalance may overlap. The adrenal test addresses estradiol, progesterone, testosterone DHEA and cortisol.

Proper hormone balancing can improve your quality of life through improved energy and focus.  An accurate salivary hormone test can be the first step to helping you look and feel better.

All this may sound complex, but the testing itself is easy and painless.

There are different phases of adrenal exhaustion. Don't wait until you get yourself into the critical phase. Do yourself and your family the favor of having a healthy, energetic and balanced you.
